SYM scooters are distributed by Carter Brothers, one of the best known Go Kart distributors in the U.S. having started operations in 1936. In 2006 Carter Brothers started importing San Yang Motor Co. scooters from Hsinchu, Taiwan also known as SYM. This is Taiwan's second largest exporter right behind Kymco.
SYM engines and parts are extremely different from Kymco engines and other engines currently in the U.S. market so as our relationship with Carter grows, we will be offering more and more parts for the lineup. We will also be carrying parts for the new Carter XRV Kart series. The SYM scooter lineup uses both 2-stroke Honda DIO based engines (like the Kymco ZX) and an upgrade of the GY6 engine known as the SYM 200. The SYM 250cc engine is an entirely original design and can be found in the SYM 250cc scooters and the Carter 250 / 300cc buggies. |
